Dutch/East influence

Most of his love for cooking comes from his family; the Pasch and du Plooy families come from food-loving backgrounds. Pasch explains, “Cooking for me started with helping my mom and family in the kitchen at home. My mom introduced me to Eastern ingredients, flavours and combinations at a very young age”.  Later on he started to incorporate Eastern ingredients into his style of  cooking. Pickling, searing, raw dishes, ingredients like soy mirin and sesame became staples in his recipes. The way they combine all aspects of cooking is so much in his line that he started to develop a cooking style that results in an exciting mix of local-Dutch and Eastern cuisine.
